R+D+I Improving the sustainability of Mediterranean agro-ecosystems. Programme PRIMA

R + D + I Interjospal participates in the international APPLEMED consortium within the PRIMA Initiative (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area). The general objective of APPLEMED is to develop innovative and sustainable cropping systems and their introduction of Lebanon, Egypt and Algeria. The cultivation system includes an innovative irrigation system in ICT / IoT and fertilization based on bioregulators and natural biostimulants. This concept will help to improve the essential diet in some Mediterranean countries, and provide raw material for different industries. The strategic objectives are: supporting the production of new crops, improving the efficiency of fruit and vegetable production and sustainability, as well as contributing to improving the quality of the Mediterranean agri-food value chain by supplying adapted cultivars with high nutritional value.
